A pencil sketch on paper lifting off the page into simple gray blocks on a small stage.

Build from a sketch

Drop in a sketch — a whiteboard photo, a napkin drawing, a screenshot. Valet reads it and builds a gray-box comp with the layers where you drew them.

In Valet 1.5.0 and later

Good for

  • a whiteboard layout
  • a napkin sketch
  • a reference screenshot

Three ways to use it

  1. From the whiteboard. Snap the layout your team drew in the meeting and drop it in — the boxes become layers in a comp.
  2. The napkin idea. A quick pen sketch of a lower third is enough: you get a gray-box comp to start designing in.
  3. Match a reference. Drop in a screenshot of a layout you like, and get the same structure as a gray-box comp you can make your own.

You need

  • a sketch or picture

You get

1 gray-box comp · about 2 minutes
