Quick-start guide
Before you start
A few things to have ready before you begin:
- After Effects 2022 or newer.
- A Google account. Signing in with it creates your request.
- For Valet: macOS and Claude Code (the Setup guide covers it).
Download a panel
Get the .zxp file from the download page. Start with DataDriver.
Install with ZXPInstaller
Install with the free ZXPInstaller: open it, then drag the downloaded .zxp file in.
Open it in After Effects
Restart After Effects, then go to Window → Extensions → DataDriver, CameraOp or Valet.
Panel missing or greyed out?
macOS — open Terminal and run defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.11 PlayerDebugMode 1 (use CSXS.12 on AE 2024/2025), then restart After Effects.
Windows — add a DWORD PlayerDebugMode = 1 under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\CSXS.11, then restart After Effects.
Click “Sign in” inside the panel. A browser window opens; finish with Google.
Sign in creates your request. The panel unlocks when it is approved.
Waiting for approval
The browser says “Your request is in.” The panel says “Waiting for approval.” A person approves each request, usually within a day. Leave After Effects open, or come back later — the panel unlocks on its own.
You're in
One sign-in covers DataDriver, CameraOp and Valet. When a new version ships, the panel tells you.
